Phil Mastrosimone, Founder
As a fourth generation builder, Phil brings family tradition of old-world craftsmanship to the building process, creating a vision all his own. Born in Jamestown, New York, Phil has worked in different areas of construction throughout his life. From concrete to framing, stone, brick, trim and design, he takes pride in the attention to detail and architecture for which Mastrosimone Construction has become known.
However, construction is not his only passion. Having been musically inclined since the age of 11, Phil has also found time to pursue his love of music. He received a scholarship for trumpet to the D'Angelo Department of Music at Mercyhurst College in Erie, Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Music Performance and Audio Engineering. He has played with the Erie and Cleveland Philharmonic Orchestras and credits his creative tendencies to his musical background. Phil extended his love of the arts to the summers he spent working for his father’s building company, where he discovered his talent for woodworking and the satisfaction generated by creating one-of-a-kind embellishments for homes that would be enjoyed and admired for generations to come.
Never a fan of carbon-copy housing tracts that sacrifice creativity, variation and tradition, Phil has felt inspired by all the planned developments that have spread throughout central Florida—inspired, that is, to revive true architecture and craftsman-style detailing so that discerning homeowners and commercial developers are offered a viable alternative to mediocrity and sameness.
“The term ‘good enough’ is no more in my vocabulary than it is in my clients’,” says Mastrosimone. “Before I can expect an owner to be proud of a home or building built by my company, I have to be proud of it. If it is anything less than first caliber, it will not meet the reputation of the Mastrosimone name.”
Phil and his wife Rosemarie, along with their sons Philip, Mason, Chris and Ryan, have resided in the central Florida area for 20 years and are honored to be an instrumental part of the area’s most lovely and highly-regarded luxury home divisions. Looking forward, Phil seeks to continue providing sophistication and ambiance to new homes, commercial developments and to existing structures. When asked what he delights in the most about his profession, Phil explains, “I enjoy the lasting accomplishment of building structures that can be seen and appreciated for generations to come.”
